When did you first start taking classes at MOXIE?

Around February of 2017

What did you find most challenging in the beginning?

Starting! I have never had a regular workout routine, so just getting started was outside of my comfort zone. Since I had taken a spin class before, that’s where I started and, after a while, worked up the courage to jump out there and experience other classes too!

What was the first change you noticed once you started working out at MOXIE regularly?

I immediately noticed the break my mind had while I was at MOXIE…and I immediately started looking forward to my next class so that I could get out of my own head. There’s no room for the details of your day or the stresses of life in the midst of a MOXIE workout!

Three words that describe how you feel after a sweaty workout?

I MADE IT!!!!

How do you motivate when you just don’t wanna?

I tell myself all I have to do is get through the door – and the rest will take care of itself!

Favorite way to reward yourself after reaching a fitness goal?

I love to travel, but before MOXIE never really incorporated much physical activity in my planning. I have a bit more confidence in myself to conquer activities like climbing Huayna Picchu in Peru and I am planning a trip this winter to explore diving in the South Pacific. It’s an entirely new world for me!

What would you like to accomplish fitness-wise in the next 12 months?

I’ve never considered myself a fitness-minded person, so this journey is fairly new for me. Over the next year, my goal is to stay on the path and keep pushing forward…”just keep swimming” as Dori would say! (Note Finding Nemo reference 🙂

SPEED ROUND

Lunges or crunches? Lunges

Planks or pushups? Pushups

Riding or rowing? Rowing
