Getting Sweaty With … Sheena

Over the past 9 months I have been on a weight loss journey. With changes that I have made to my eating habits along with working out consistently at MOXIE, I have seen tremendous changes with my body. When I started losing weight, I was concerned with getting toned and building some muscle. It is so exciting to see my body transform and feel stronger than I ever have. I also have more energy, feel lighter and happier, and have a changed mindset to keep on track. I am approaching a 100-pound weight loss and the motivation, inspiration, knowledge, and encouragement I’ve received from the MOXIE team, the members, and my trainer Jen has been a huge part of my journey. I can’t wait to keep going!

Favorite MOXIE workout: It is too hard to pick one…maybe Ride

When did you first start taking classes at MOXIE?

I took my first Spin class in 2017. I later began personal training sessions with Jen Faulk in 2018. This year I have been full on classes and loving it!

What did you find most challenging in the beginning?

In the beginning I was intimidated by group classes and feeling like my fitness level was much less advanced than most of the others. Switching to personal training with Jen really helped my confidence, my form, and gave me courage to get back into the classes knowing everyone has their own personal struggles and fitness levels.

What was the first change you noticed once you started working out at MOXIE regularly?

Once I started working out consistently there were many changes. I noticed my stamina increased, my flexibility was getting better, and I just had more energy. I also noticed that I enjoyed working out and it made me feel better overall.

Three words that describe how you feel after a sweaty workout?

Accomplished, hot, energized

Favorite way to reward yourself after reaching a fitness goal?

New better fitting clothes!

What would you like to accomplish fitness-wise in the next 12 months?

I am still 25 pounds away from my weight loss goal. I would like to hit that mark and continue with toning and building muscle.
